Woodlands Medical Practice would like to inform our patients that due to isolation, and skeleton staff in reception we do have some mobile numbers to ring. To ease pressure on the staff that are in work, we have several members of staff working remotely and have access to laptops. It is with much sadness that we have to tell you of the death of Deborah Hill, Practice Nurse and valued member of the team for the last 15 years. Deb died shortly after being diagnosed with a form of cancer that currently cannot be screened for. As her role involved public health, her family want to encourage people to take up the current screening available and to contact their GP with any unusual symptoms. Deb will be missed by us all but will always be remembered as a dedicated, professional, compassionate nurse, colleague and friend, an integral part of our Woodlands team

Despite easing of lockdown restrictions the risk of Covid-19 remains, we  continue to have precautions in place when you attend for an appointment:


1. Do Not Attend if you or household member have symptoms of Covid-19.


2. Bring a mobile phone, as you will need to call on arrival, the number is displayed at the entrance, the clinician will come out for you.


3. Do NOT arrive more than 5 minutes before your appointment.

4. Do Attend alone unless you need a carer or are the parent of a child with an appointment.


5. Do be prepared for the weather on the day while waiting for the clinician outside.

Important Patient Information- Appointment system 

During the current COVID-19 Pandemic all GP appointments will be Telephone consultations for nurse appointments, blood tests and smears please call the practice to discuss.

We are asking the reason for all appointments this will mean you will be asked by a member of reception what your appointment is for – this is not intended to cause distress and our receptionists are bound by the code of confidentiality, they have been requested to obtain this information to ensure you are getting the correct and appropriate clinical appointment, this information is at the doctors request.

Failure to disclose this information can result in a delay or an inappropriate appointment.
